Mumbai Police arrested three men—Hritik, Rehan, and Phool Singh—who had plotted to shoot Salman Khan in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The trio had spent two weeks scouting Khan’s Galaxy Apartments, only to find the residence guarded by a tight police cordon that forced them to abandon the plan.
Instead, the attackers re‑directed their focus to Tiger Shroff, who was leaving the Pushpa Narsee Ground in Juhu after a football match. Two men opened fire on Shroff’s car, firing seven rounds before the assailants fled on a motorcycle, abandoning it near Andheri West railway station.
The suspects were apprehended within 24 hours on Monday. Hritik, 22, hails from Begusarai, Bihar; Rehan, 18, from Sonipat, Haryana; and Phool Singh, 18, also from Haryana. Police said the men had brought foreign‑made pistols and local firearms from the previous month.
Security for Salman Khan has been intensified. Special commandos equipped with MP5 SD6 submachine guns—German‑made and fully suppressed—have been deployed around Khan’s residence. The move follows the failed attempt, reflecting the heightened threat level to high‑profile celebrities.
The investigation continues as police search for the discarded weapons. A court hearing is scheduled for next month to decide on charges against the three men, who face potential life sentences if found guilty.
