Amit Shah kicked off a Uttar Pradesh BJP working‑committee meeting in Lucknow, marking the first gathering under new state chief Pankaj Chaudhary. The gathering, held at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, was chaired by Chaudhary and drew Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, national leaders Smriti Irani and Ravi Kishan, and state in‑charge Vinod Tawde. Chaudhary lit a ceremonial lamp and paid floral tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya, while the rally echoed “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya presented a resolution urging the party to replicate its 2017 victory, setting the seat target and insisting that individual aspirations be set aside. "Forget everything else and ensure that the lotus blooms in every Assembly constituency. Whoever gets the ticket, the lotus must win," he declared, stressing collective ambition over personal ambition.
Brajesh Pathak, echoing the resolution, projected a win of 337 seats, citing improvements in law and order, infrastructure and healthcare, and highlighted the expansion of medical colleges and industrial projects such as Samsung's Noida unit. "Earlier, there was talk of one district, one mafia; today, the resolve of one district, one medical college is being realised," Pathak said.
Anupama Jaiswal and Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan supported the resolution, emphasizing booth‑level organization. The meeting, the first under Chaudhary's leadership, will set the campaign agenda as the state approaches the March 2028 polls.
