Delhi Police arrested seven people on October 16 in a coordinated raid in Greater Noida, linking them to a cyber fraud network that siphoned more than Rs 30 crore from victims across India. The bust was triggered when Fatima, a Ramjas College student from Prayagraj, reported losing Rs 6,450 after ordering a kurti via an Instagram ad and paying in stages through a QR code.
The student’s complaint, lodged on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal on September 4, set the investigation in motion. Investigators traced her payments—Rs 400, Rs 1,150, Rs 2,000, Rs 2,650, and Rs 650—to a Canara Bank account linked to Kizentech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in Greater Noida.
Technical work uncovered nearly 200 mobile numbers, IMEI IDs, and banking transactions, with data pulled from Flipkart, Zomato and Blue‑Dart. SI Arvind Yadav said the team linked 27 separate complaints from across the country to the same network, and identified 25 bank accounts opened under fictitious names.
The raid on October 16 netted six accused—Aditya Mishra, Ayush Verma, Abhishek Pal, Himanshu Rana, Rahul Kumar and Gaurav Pandey—while Udit Pratap Singh Bhadauriya was taken in Kanpur on October 21. SI Yadav praised the police’s “tightly‑coordinated” operation and noted that the accused had set up shell companies to funnel money into their accounts.
Police recovered 20 mobile phones, 45 SIM cards, 39 POS machines, 33 debit cards, 28 cheque books, 15 scanners, two laptops, five stamps, seven Aadhaar cards, five PAN cards and 21 bank documents, all evidence of the syndicate’s scale.
Delhi Police are extending the probe to uncover other network members and to trace connections to additional cyber‑fraud cases nationwide. The next phase will focus on following the financial trails left in the 25 shell accounts and linking them to pending investigations.
