The Jammu and Kashmir police filed an FIR on Friday at Gandhi Nagar station against a 28‑year‑old Telangana native, who had been employed as a freelance researcher, after intelligence agencies intercepted her at Jammu Tawi railway station on October 14.
She married a serving Army major in October 2023 and holds master's degrees in International Relations from Bengaluru (2021) and European Governance from Geneva (2022). Her résumé also lists an UN internship in 2023 and a stint at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies in New Delhi.
Investigators say the woman drafted analytical briefs on the Line of Control, Arunachal infrastructure, drone deployment, and high‑profile defence meetings, including the India‑Italy defence talks at the Manekshaw Centre and the India‑Russia defence pact. The documents were allegedly produced using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.
The case is under the Official Secrets Act and BNS provisions, with a deputy superintendent leading the probe. Her mobile phone and financial records are under forensic review, and she remains in custody pending further interrogation. A joint CBI‑IGI review is expected by the end of November.
