After a 26‑day stint in a Delhi rehab centre, Yuzvendra Chahal is back on the field, his IPL wicket tally still sitting at a blistering 233.
He told Aakash Chopra that the divorce and late‑night socials pushed him past the limit—"I was drowning in booze," he said, and the next day he realised his body and mind were crumbling.
The 30‑year‑old, who has taken 121 ODI wickets and 96 in T20Is, said the rehab forced him to reflect. "It felt like a reset button," he added, noting the 26 days gave him a clearer head and a sharper focus on the pitch.
His coach, Ajay Reddy, praised the spin‑spinner’s resolve: "He’s back sharper than ever—our bowling attack has never been stronger," he remarked, hinting at a tighter partnership with the Mumbai Indians.
With the 2026 IPL season looming, Chahal is set to return to the Mumbai Indians jersey, ready to chase the next wicket record and prove his resilience on the field.
