The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of 51,000 2,500‑mAh lithium‑ion packs from Blue Cactus Company on September 24, 2026, after four incidents of overheating and fire.
The packs, marked RWX‑RBP02, were sold on Amazon for roughly $105 and shipped between May 2023 and July 2026. They power a range of reclining chairs, often as replacements, and are easily mistaken for other batteries.
Owners can spot the recalled units by their black casing and the Blue Cactus logo. The model number is stamped on the back.
Consumers must immediately cease use and contact Blue Cactus for a free replacement. The company requests proof of purchase and will arrange pickup or drop‑off of the old pack.
The CPSC warns that these batteries cannot be disposed of in regular trash or recycling bins; they must be taken to a municipal household hazardous waste centre after confirmation it accepts recalled lithium‑ion units.
The batteries were imported by Go North Rocket 28 AB of Sweden and sold exclusively through Amazon, creating a single point of contact for buyers. Replacement shipments are expected to begin early October, with Amazon offering a return label.
