The clip shows Meena slumped over a desk in a staff room, eyes closed, while the school clock ticked past 9:30 am. The footage, uploaded to a popular video platform, quickly amassed hundreds of thousands of views, sparking indignation among parents and teachers alike.
Parents from the nearby village of Bhandari Andruni posted screenshots on WhatsApp, calling the incident a "shameful lapse" and demanding a formal investigation. One user, 38‑year‑old farmer Ramesh Singh, wrote, "My children are in that school; this is unacceptable."
The district education office in Todabhim said it had not yet received a formal complaint. Officials are reviewing the footage to determine whether disciplinary action is warranted.
A similar video earlier this month from Dasavas in Nagaur district showed children hauling heavy steel lunch trays, prompting a separate inquiry into school safety protocols. The state education minister, Dr. Vinay Kumar, announced a review of all government schools in the region.
The education department has scheduled a meeting for next Thursday to decide on sanctions against Meena. A formal statement is expected by Friday, according to a spokesperson.
