On October 1, IndianOil increased the retail price of 19‑kg commercial LPG cylinders nationwide. In Delhi the new rate is ₹2,810, up ₹62.50 from ₹2,747.50. Mumbai’s price climbed ₹63 to ₹2,764, while Chennai saw a ₹66.50 rise to ₹2,983. In Patna, the hike is the steepest, adding ₹71.50 to bring the cylinder to ₹3,100.50.
Patna’s surge, the largest among the cited cities, reflects regional supply pressures and currency swings. Local chefs and catering firms are already scrambling to renegotiate contracts as kitchen costs climb.
Meanwhile, domestic 14.2‑kg cylinders remain unchanged, holding steady at ₹942 in Delhi and ₹957.50 in Chennai. The split keeps household consumers out of this price shock, but the commercial sector bears the brunt.
The Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell (PPAC) says pricing follows international LPG benchmarks and rupee fluctuations. IndianOil’s price page lists September 1 rates, providing a baseline for the new October levels.
With the festive season approaching, restaurants and hotels are bracing for higher input costs. Industry groups have called for a review of the price adjustment mechanism, and a parliamentary committee is slated to probe the hike next month.
