Ethan Eriksen, a 16‑year‑old junior at Barron High School, launched Shredrz Attire after failing to find flame‑printed ski pants that met his standards in 2025.
The company grew through collaborations with overseas designers, producing functional yet stylish winter apparel while he balanced school work, competitive skiing, and a part‑time job as a ski instructor.
During the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Young Entrepreneur Competition in Milwaukee, finalists were judged on growth potential, strategic direction, and personal integrity, with Ethan outperforming competitors from Appleton, North Fond du Lac, and Verona.
The panel featured Mario Costantini of La Lune Collection, Craig Culver of Culver’s, Louis P. Gentine II of Sargento, Anna Lardinois of MKEStartup.News, and Jim Popp of Johnson Financial Group. Ethan secured the $5,000 scholarship and the Viewer’s Choice Award, sweeping the contest.
Teacher Ky Baumgard called his pitch professional and polished, noting the win as a victory for the entire school district. He plans to use the prize to scale Shredrz Attire and will pitch to investors next month.
