The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram announced Monday that it will light up 2,480 bulbs across 19 roads in a bid to curb nighttime crashes.
The rollout will begin with 2,050 lamps along sidewalks and 430 on central verges, covering stretches from HUDA City Centre to Signature Chowk, Golf Course Extension Road, and Bakhtawar Singh Chowk.
Already finished is the Medanta Road sidewalk, and lights will also illuminate Bakhtawar Chowk to Medanta traffic light, Hero Honda Chowk to Bakhtawar Chowk, and routes linking Mayfield Garden to SPR Road, Sohna Road from Park Hospital to Mayfield Garden, and Dharam Marg.
The corporation has called on residents to flag unlit roads for future inclusion, with a second‑phase plan slated for later this year.
