Sujeet Upadhyay, the Rabupura SHO, said the trio—Sunita, 45, Shekhar, 50, and Sapna, 32—were taken into custody on Sunday after a complaint from a relative of the deceased.
The police say Mahesh recorded a voice‑note on his phone before his death, accusing the siblings of orchestrating the killings, and that a transfer of the family house into Sunita’s name had triggered his distress.
Post‑mortem videos show signs of poisoning; viscera samples are heading to the Forensic Science Laboratory and Food Safety Department for analysis, while CCTV footage rules out any outsider.
The case is lodged under Section 108 of the BNS for abetment to suicide, and the forensic report is expected by next week, after which the matter will move to the court for trial. Lalita’s brother, who filed the complaint, said he heard his sister scream after the house transfer, underscoring the family’s grief.
