Times Now, a leading Indian news channel, has unveiled the 2026 edition of its 'Amazing Indians' awards, a program that will spotlight grassroots heroes across the country.
The awards will recognize excellence in wildlife conservation, disability support, and community service. Nominees are vetted by a panel of experts, including environmental scientist Dr. Meera Nair and disability rights activist Mr. Arun Desai.
Among the shortlisted candidates are Aurobindo Samal, chairperson of Earth Crusaders Organisation, who has rescued over 2,000 animals since 2015, and Anita Agarwal, founder of Pahela Kadam Special School, which serves 300 children with disabilities.
Minister of Environment K. P. Singh said the awards highlight the power of ordinary citizens to effect extraordinary change, urging the public to support such initiatives.
The winners will be announced at the ceremony and will receive a commemorative plaque and a ₹1 lakh grant to fund their projects. The event will feature speeches by dignitaries and a keynote address by Dr. S. R. Sharma, former chief wildlife veterinarian.
