AAP MP Sanjay Singh announced that he and his party members would join the Cockroach Janta Party's protest in Delhi on October 10 to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The protest, labelled Jantar Mantar 2.0, has been called upon by the CJP to rally all opposition parties. Only the Left, AAP, and Mamata Banerjee’s Biju Janata Dal have publicly signaled support; Congress and Samajwadi Party have yet to declare.
Singh explained that the demonstration will target alleged vote theft, the Special Intensive Revision process, and irregularities in state elections. He added that the protest seeks to involve the Chief Justice of India in the CEC selection process and to mandate elections with ballot papers.
Before speaking to reporters in Sikandarpur, Singh attended the thirteenth‑day ritual of senior Samajwadi leader Ram Govind Chaudhary, underscoring the protest’s grassroots roots. The day after the announcement, election officials are expected to issue a statement on the upcoming demonstration.
