Prashant, a private school teacher, came home at 2 p.m. to find the Dohla house ransacked. He spotted Neetu, 34, in the bathroom, her hands bound and face taped. The scene looked like a robbery, according to the police.
Senior officer Inspector Rajesh Kumar said the police have registered an FIR against an unknown accused and are combing through CCTV footage from a nearby shop. He added that the post‑mortem would be carried out by the forensic science laboratory, and the case is still under investigation. No theft has been confirmed yet, but scattered belongings suggest a break‑in.
Prashant told officers he left with their two children at 8 a.m. and returned from school at 2 p.m. He immediately rushed Neetu to a private hospital in Sohna, where doctors pronounced her dead. The doctors said the cause of death was not yet established.
The family is grappling with the shock, as the mother’s sudden death has left the children without a caretaker. The police have called the family to a press conference to update them on the investigation. Neetu’s parents, who live in Gurgaon, have requested privacy.
Police expect to finish the post‑mortem by Friday night and will announce findings in the early hours of next Monday. If a suspect emerges from the CCTV review, a formal arrest could follow before the weekend.
