The crash that killed 26‑year‑old Raja Kumar Verma and 23‑year‑old Vinay Yadav on September 25 left their families in Jharkhand scrambling for repatriation assistance.
According to Da Lat police, the two‑wheeler lost traction on a slick asphalt stretch, crossed into the opposite lane, and struck a car traveling in the wrong direction.
Both men had left Ranchi and Jamshedpur two years ago to seek better jobs as yoga instructors in Vietnam, a country where many Indian workers earn higher wages. Their fathers are electricians, and the families were not financially stable.
Rupa Verma and her brother Shubham met with Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, who thereafter contacted Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, who assured them of ongoing repatriation efforts.
Jharkhand Labour Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav told NDTV that the state will provide a one‑time Rs 5 lakh assistance under the migrant worker scheme, and that the bodies will soon be brought to Jharkhand.
The families are awaiting approval of repatriation logistics and the issuance of a No‑Objection Certificate from the Vietnamese hospital before the bodies can be flown home.
