Alwin’s wife, Tina Kunder, a schoolteacher, and their son, a tenth‑class student, remain missing, with their last confirmed contact being a text from Alwin on July 20 that read “I’m fine.”
Brother Anil Prashanth Kunder met the Udupi Superintendent of Police on Monday, presenting a representation demanding police action, and lodged a missing‑person complaint after confirming Alwin’s passport still listed him as residing in Sharjah.
Investigators say Alwin’s body was recovered inside a car parked along the route toward Oman, packed in two bags, and CCTV footage captured two men and a woman leaving the apartment building hours before the discovery.
Sharjah authorities have yet to issue a formal statement; Udupi police are holding a press conference to seek cooperation from Emirati officials and to clarify whether Alwin’s wife and son are still in Sharjah or have returned to India.
Anil, who grew up in Kundapur, expressed anguish, saying, “If my wife came to India, she must know what happened to her husband,” while locals in Udupi hold vigil for the missing family.
