Trump said U.S. and Iranian officials met on Tuesday, calling it a very good meeting. The talk came after his UN General Assembly speech where he warned of annihilating Iran if a deal was not reached.
During the speech, Trump defended his military campaign in Iran, celebrating the 2025 bombardments and asserting U.S. strength.
Later that day, Trump convened with Danish PM Mette Frederiksen and Greenlandic PM Jens‑Frederik Nielsen to sign a security agreement, while also speaking with British PM Andy Burnham about migration and regional conflicts.
He announced plans to meet next week with Gulf Cooperation Council leaders from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to discuss the war’s trajectory and address recent rebel attacks in Saudi Arabia.
The White House said the Gulf summit will signal a shift toward diplomatic engagement and will likely focus on further military presence and potential ceasefire terms.
