Yuvraj Singh has slipped into the Delhi Capitals’ coaching fold, stepping up as Assistant and Batting Coach before the new IPL season kicks off. The former all‑rounder arrives with a personal tally of 36 wickets and 2,750 runs from 132 IPL matches, a record that still sits at the top of the league’s bowling charts.
The move is steeped in history. In 2015, when Delhi Daredevils—now Capitals—paid a record ₹16 crore for Yuvi, the city’s cricketing heart skipped a beat. He played every match that season, and now, 11 years later, he’s back to mould the next wave of talent.
Parth Jindal, the franchise’s chairman, didn’t hold back. "We're absolutely thrilled to welcome Yuvi to the Delhi Capitals family," he said, chuckling as he described Yuvraj’s match‑winning aura. Yuvraj himself was quick to echo the sentiment, adding that he’s eager to work alongside former captain Sourav Ganguly, affectionately known as Dada.
With his deep understanding of the game and a legacy of mentoring young stars, Yuvraj is expected to inject a winning mindset into the Capitals’ batting lineup. As the season looms, the coaching staff’s new dynamic could be the difference-maker in a league where every run and wicket counts.
The Capitals’ first match of the IPL 2026 season is set for Tuesday against the Rajasthan Royals, and fans will be watching closely to see if Yuvi’s coaching spark lights up the scoreboard.
