Hemant and Mukesh, the two fugitives linked to the Monday gangrape near Kalkaji Mandir, fell into police hands early Tuesday morning from their Faridabad residence. The arrests complete the sweep of the three men accused of assaulting the 17-year-old victim.
The crime unfolded in a park in South Delhi, where the trio posed as police officers. Police said Hemant, who practises at Saket court, used legal jargon to intimidate the teenager before the group carried out the assault. His brother, Mukesh, is a final-year BSc student. Both men’s father is a practising lawyer at the Faridabad court.
Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The initial crackdown saw the arrest of Asif following a brief exchange of fire. Investigators then traced the remaining brothers to their home in Haryana.
The investigation is now focused on recovering forensic evidence and mapping the full timeline of the abduction. Prosecutor teams are preparing the charge sheet as the three accused face a grim outlook under the POCSO Act.
