
Elecon Engineering’s shares leapt 6% to ₹489.50 on Monday, snapping a two‑session loss streak and marking the second‑biggest gain on the Nifty 500 that day. The intraday high hit ₹489.50 before settling at ₹479.50 by 1.40 pm.
For Q1 FY27, net profit slumped 60% YoY to ₹70 crore, a sharp decline from ₹175 crore a year earlier that included an ₹80.5 crore one‑time gain. Revenue ticked up 6% to ₹521 crore, but EBITDA fell 16% to ₹110 crore, tightening the margin to 21.1% from 26.7%.
Promoters own 59.27% of the equity, the public holds 40.73%, and foreign investors are only 7.5% of the 20% cap. Monday saw 50 lakh shares traded, 1.44 times the 10‑day average volume.
September has been Elecon’s second‑best month this year, with a 15.98% gain; April saw a 42.82% jump, while July dragged the stock down 21.5% after the June quarter release.
The company has yet to issue Q2 guidance. Analysts are watching for any turnaround signals ahead of the next filing.
