Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded the arrest of BJP Minister Parvesh Verma after a slapping incident in Tilak Nagar, Delhi, on Sunday.
The incident, reported by local residents, involved a BJP worker allegedly striking a bystander, sparking immediate outrage in the neighborhood.
Kejriwal, inspecting the road at the site, voiced his frustration that the act undermined the rule of law and called for Verma’s immediate detention.
The BJP has yet to issue a formal response, leaving the political fallout unresolved.
A resident of Tilak Nagar, 45, said the day’s violence had shaken the community, describing the area as suddenly tense.
Kejriwal pledged to file a formal complaint with Delhi Police, urging authorities to act swiftly and ensure accountability.
