Saheb Singh, a field associate of AAP MLA Jarnail Singh, recorded a road inspection in Tilak Nagar when PWD Minister Parvesh Verma slapped him. The clip shows Verma pulling out sections of the newly laid road, then turning to the recorder after an alleged insult toward his family, and striking him across the face.
Kejriwal, former Delhi chief minister, slammed the incident on X and demanded the minister’s arrest, adding that he would inspect the road personally the next day. He said the minister "lost his composure" after residents questioned the work’s quality.
Parvesh Verma released a video message through the Delhi BJP on X, claiming the footage was taken out of context and that Jarnail Singh’s workers had abused him and his family. He threatened an FIR against the MLA, insisting the government would audit the road works independently.
The complaint was filed at Vikaspuri Police Station, and the Delhi Police have reportedly prepared an arrest warrant for Verma. AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi, have called for immediate action, while the Delhi Police are expected to act within the next 24 hours.
The incident has ignited a broader debate over road construction standards in Delhi, with AAP highlighting past grievances about poor quality work and demanding accountability from the state machinery.
