A viral clip showed a woman lying on the parking lot of the club, with two women assaulting her while she was stripped of her clothes. The footage prompted police to register a case and launch a hunt for the perpetrators.
The arrests included bar manager Justin D Areng, event manager Nekibur Zaman Sarkar, front‑office executive Jhumpa Sinha, and women bouncers Usha Devi, Manju Das, Gaurav Mahanta and Dino Sona, bringing the total number of accused to seven. Police say 10 people were linked to the incident, and investigators are still searching for three additional suspects.
CCTV footage from the club and the parking area has been seized, and investigators are cross‑checking the viral video for authenticity. They are also examining records that show liquor bottles scattered inside the premises after the assault.
Dispur Police Station officer in charge Bhaskar Malla Patowary told reporters that the case has been registered under Sections 726 and 26 of the penal code. He added that the identities of the victims remain undisclosed as the probe continues.
The accused will be arraigned on June 15, 2026, in the Srinagar district court, where the prosecution will present evidence collected from the club’s surveillance system and eyewitness statements. The trial is expected to address whether the club’s management failed to prevent the assault or conspired to conceal it.
