Prince Andrew Mountbatten‑Windsor has lodged a judicial review with the High Court challenging the legality of his February 2024 arrest by Thames Valley Police.
The arrest followed a search of his Sandringham Estate and former Windsor residence, which police said was based on warrants tied to documents allegedly shared with Jeffrey Epstein while he served as a trade envoy between 2001 and 2011.
The Telegraph, citing a court filing, said Andrew has denied any wrongdoing and expressed regret over his friendship with Epstein. He was stripped of royal duties in 2019 and stripped of titles in October 2023.
Neither Thames Valley Police nor Buckingham Palace responded to comment requests. The court will hear the case on July 12, after which the review could determine if the police acted within the law. A staffer at Royal Lodge, who worked on the estate’s security, said they were stunned by the sudden raid.
