The move follows a planned sit‑in at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar that the CJP has scheduled for the next day to protest alleged voter‑list manipulation.
Inside the aircraft, a video shows police officers confronting Dipke and other CJP leaders—Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka—who were also seized at the same time.
Dipke told officers, "I have come here to be arrested. Arrest me. I am not afraid of you," while one cop replied, "This is not an arrest. Please cooperate." He then asked to carry his bag.
Dipke was transported to a detention centre in Gurugram, whereas Das and Ranka were taken to separate sites in Delhi, sources said.
The party condemned the arrests as a violation of freedom of movement and demanded the immediate, unconditional release of the three leaders, warning that the protest at Jantar Mantar would proceed if they are not freed.
Earlier this month, the CJP’s sit‑ins over the medical entrance exam leak had forced Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, and this week authorities have deployed more than 20,000 personnel to maintain order ahead of the protest, with over 400 people detained overnight and several trains and metro lines suspended.
