On Friday, Urban Company shares climbed 1.74% to ₹157 on the NSE, reflecting market optimism after the company unveiled a ₹2,500 cr equity raise to back its expansion into residential ACs.
The Q2 consolidated net loss widened to ₹182.5 cr from ₹59 cr a year earlier, while revenue surged 41.4% YoY to ₹537.3 cr, delivering a top‑line 41% jump.
EBITDA loss ballooned to ₹187.6 cr from ₹68.4 cr, a result of continued investment in the InstaHelp platform, underscoring the company’s aggressive growth strategy.
Urban Company plans to launch a single new category at a time; residential air conditioning was chosen for its large servicing demand, premium profit potential and integration with the Native app, as the board noted.
The ₹2,500 cr capital raise, structured as equity and convertible securities, will be deployed over multiple tranches, enabling Urban Company to scale its AC services and potentially turn profits by FY27, the board said.
