Manhattan gastroenterologist Dr Roshini Raj listed her nearly 5‑acre Bridgehampton estate, complete with a 15th‑century Buddhist temple replica, for $7.5 million on September 24, according to Mansion Global.
Raj bought the property in 2022 for $3.95 million and poured an additional $3 million into renovations, turning a former family weekend retreat into a private sanctuary steeped in East Asian design.
The compound boasts a 7,800‑sq‑ft main house with seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and a half‑bath, a four‑car garage, sauna, gym, wine cellar, lagoon‑style pool, spa, koi ponds, orchards and a temple modeled after Beijing’s Summer Palace.
Mala Sander of the Corcoran Group, who is handling the listing, called the property “insanely private” because it sits on a little‑known street and spans more than the typical 1.5‑acre lots in the village.
Raj explained that the estate’s temple, complete with 500‑year‑old doors and murals, serves as her meditation and yoga studio, and that the surrounding gardens help create a ‘spiritual sense of calm’ that she describes as a ‘serene and soulful retreat.’
She said the timing of the sale aligns with her youngest child’s upcoming college move and her desire for greater travel freedom, and she hopes to pass the property on to someone who will use it more often.
The listing remains active and is expected to attract buyers looking for a secluded, culturally rich estate, with bidding likely to commence within the next month.
