Former IAS officer Divya Mittal announced on Saturday that her Janneeti Bharat party will contest all 403 seats in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The 45‑year‑old, who left the civil services after 13 years, said she was driven by a desire to bring people‑centric governance to the state.
Speaking to a crowd in Chunar, Mirzapur, Mittal urged residents to back her candidate there, saying, "Our party will field a candidate in Chunar as a starting point."
She added that every constituency where the party finds a strong candidate will see a nomination, aiming to replace traditional party politics with a "JanNiti" model.
Observing the launch, local political analyst Arun Kumar noted that the move could split the vote in key ridings, forcing established parties to rethink their strategies.
The party will now begin a statewide candidate selection process, with first meetings slated for mid‑October, and a campaign launch slated for early 2027.
