Elon Musk and his America PAC settled two federal class actions accusing the entrepreneur of running a $1 million daily lottery scheme that lured voters in seven swing states to sign petitions in support of the U.S. Constitution.
The lawsuits, filed by Arizona residents, alleged that Musk promised a random daily $1 million giveaway to encourage signatures, a tactic that could have swayed the 2024 election margins.
Musk and the PAC did not disclose settlement terms; lawyers for the plaintiffs declined to comment and did not respond to interview requests.
America PAC, founded by Musk to back Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, has denied all allegations, calling the claims "baseless".
Ramona Patel, 45, from Phoenix, told a local news outlet that she signed the petition after hearing the lottery promise, only to learn the claim was unfounded.
The court in Austin will approve the settlement once it reviews the filings, and a federal judge has already ordered Musk to testify in the lawsuits, a step that could set a precedent for political campaign conduct.
