Michael Douglas, 82, and Catherine Zeta‑Jones, 57, have decided to keep their 190‑acre S’Estaca estate on Mallorca off the market, after a $32.7 million listing in 2019.
The couple purchased the 1867‑built property in 1990 with Douglas’s first wife, Diandra Luker, for $3.5 million, and Luker’s later sale of her share to Zeta‑Jones in 2018 made them sole owners.
S’Estaca comprises seven buildings across the 190 acres, a 10‑bedroom main house, a private pier, a gym, a spa, a wine cellar and a library that the duo use for hosting guests.
In 2014, the estate was listed for nearly $60 million, but after a 2019 promotional video the asking price was cut to $32.7 million – a figure that the market has not met.
Douglas said in a Wall Street Journal interview that the property is a second home where his children, Dylan and Carys, have grown up, and the couple will continue to use the estate exclusively for family and close friends, with no plans to relist.
