The ceremony, held on Monday at the 22‑acre Matunga railway yard, opened with Pranav Adani performing a traditional Bhoomi Poojan, while Aseem Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Maharashtra’s Urban Development Department, and Mahendra Kalyankar, CEO of the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, watched.
The project, executed by Adani Navbharat Developers Private Limited—a joint venture of the Maharashtra government and the Adani Group—envisions ten high‑rise towers, each 37–39 stories tall, housing 10,432 apartments and 1,379 commercial and industrial units.
Each flat will measure about 350 square feet, and nearly 4,500 homes will be allocated on a priority basis to eligible Dharavi residents, with families from Sectors 6 and 1 receiving initial occupancy.
Construction is slated to start in earnest, with the first five towers scheduled for handover in March 2029, two more in August 2029, and the remaining three by August 2030; ANDPL will manage maintenance for ten years post‑handover, funding the upkeep through a 10% commercial‑space reserve.
Adani said, “Every family deserves a home where they feel secure and can plan for the future,” while Kalyankar added, “Our focus is on providing safe, modern homes with the infrastructure and amenities needed for a better quality of life.”
