The NIA attached the Danihama house in Srinagar on March 31, 2024, after discovering it had served as a safe haven for Lashkar‑e‑Taiba operatives Abu Huraira and Khubaib. The property, owned by Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas, was found to contain caches of ammunition and logistical instructions linking the two militants to local support networks.
During the raid, police recovered encrypted communication logs and a supply of homemade incendiary devices, underscoring the house’s role as a hub for planning attacks. A senior security force officer said, "The evidence confirms a sophisticated network of local operatives working hand‑in‑hand with Pakistan‑based handlers."
The FIR was first lodged at Zakoora Police Station on March 31 and subsequently transferred to the NIA, reflecting the agency’s prioritisation of cross‑border terrorism cases. Earlier operations in Jammu and Kashmir had already dismantled several hideouts, but this attachment marks a decisive move against over‑ground facilitators.
Under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the house will remain in police custody as evidence while the NIA prepares the prosecution of Mir and his alleged accomplices. The attachment also signals a broader legal strategy aimed at eradicating the infrastructure that supports foreign terrorists in the Valley.
