CJP spokesperson Saurav Das posted a video on X on Wednesday, 28 September, labeling Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar an "enemy of India" and claiming that more than 12 crore names—about 12.4% of the 97 crore eligible voters—had been struck from the roll.
Earlier that day, party leader Abhijeet Dipke and Ashutosh Ranka echoed the claim, insisting that the deletions were deliberate and that the electoral process had been compromised.
The Election Commission of India denied the allegations, stating that all deletions were carried out in accordance with the Representation of the People Act and that the commission had received and addressed 14 formal objections from its own members over the past ten months.
The accusations come amid a tense debate over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, a process that has already cost thousands of rural families the right to vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The matter has been tabled in the Lok Sabha, where a special session on 15 October will hear the commission's rebuttal and decide whether to commission an independent inquiry.
