The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) issued a 48‑hour ultimatum to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign, warning that a nationwide protest will be launched if the demand is not met—following an Indian Express report that raised questions about the Special Intensive Revision.
Abhijeet Dipke, the party’s founder, accused Kumar of orchestrating the deletion of 13 crore votes during the SIR, arguing that the process disproportionately targeted opposition parties and secured a BJP‑friendly electorate.
Earlier this week, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had raised concerns about the SIR, but their complaints were ignored by the commission.
The CJP’s demands go beyond resignation: it calls for criminal charges against Kumar, an independent inquiry into the SIR orders, and the transfer of all related files to the Supreme Court to prevent evidence loss.
If the Chief Election Commissioner does not comply, the party pledges to march to Delhi on June 2, 2026, with opposition leaders and civil society groups joining the agitation, potentially disrupting the city’s electoral processes.
