The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), a marginal group that has built a following on social media, has formally informed the police that it will marshal youth from across India to Jantar Mantar on October 10, demanding a review of the election process.
Saurav Das, the party’s chief spokesperson, personally delivered a written notice to the Parliament Street Police Station, and the police issued an acknowledgement and an undertaking to cooperate.
Das said the demonstration will focus on what he calls "theft of votes" and the exclusion of Generation‑Z citizens from voter rolls, arguing that the Election Commission has failed to include their names.
A 17‑year‑old engineering student from Jaipur, who is part of the youth movement, said he plans to join the march, hoping to push for reforms that would allow his cohort to vote next year.
Police officials have scheduled a traffic‑management plan and will deploy additional officers to ensure order; the protest is expected to draw thousands and may prompt a parliamentary debate on voter registration.
