On Friday, 28‑year‑old Shiva Sharma fell from the fourth floor of influencer Shraddha Dubey's Lucknow apartment, prompting the police to register a murder case. The apartment, located on Laxman Nagar, witnessed the tragic incident at approximately 10:30 p.m., according to the police log.
In a one‑minute video posted to her Instagram, Dubey insisted that her boyfriend had died by suicide. She declared herself ready to cooperate with investigators, requesting that her name not be linked to any high‑ranking officials. Dubey also added that she is not in a good state and is physically unfit to speak.
The mother of the deceased, Ranjana Sharma, filed a formal complaint alleging that Dubey had threatened to circulate obscene videos of her son for nearly four months. She further claimed that the boyfriend suffered physical violence during their relationship. The complaint names Dubey’s sister Rashmi, driver Danish, associate Adil, and other unnamed individuals as co‑accused.
Lucknow Police have announced a reward of ₹25,000 each for any information leading to the arrest of Dubey and her sister. The officers are actively canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses from the neighborhood.
Ranjana Sharma expressed fear that her son’s reputation would be permanently tarnished by the alleged threats, stating, "I have never seen such cruelty," and called for swift justice for her son’s death.
The investigation is expected to culminate in a formal charge sheet within the next 48 hours, with a court hearing scheduled for early next week.
