The Local nightclub in Guwahati’s Khanapara floor erupted into chaos after a woman customer allegedly threw a glass bottle at a female bouncer, forcing the staff to restrain her.
A security guard who witnessed the exchange said the fight began on the fourth floor, where the woman and two male companions brandished the bottle. The guard added that the bouncer sustained facial injuries and required 13 stitches.
Guwahati DCP T.R. Pegu told Times Now that the case is under investigation; no FIR has been filed yet, and he declined to speculate. Police are probing the motive and the sequence of events.
The club has been shut down pending the inquiry, with owners citing safety concerns and a need to review security protocols. Employees and patrons have expressed uncertainty, while some former guests have posted on social media, calling the incident a warning.
The incident comes amid growing scrutiny of nightclub safety regulations in Assam, where a series of altercations have prompted calls for stricter licensing and staff training. The authorities have urged club operators to ensure adequate security measures.
