Daram Supriya, 31, died at the scene of a collision in St. Louis, Missouri, when a truck rammed her car Saturday night. She was returning home with a friend after closing a restaurant in the area. Her friend, also an Indian national, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Supriya, a native of Maripeda in Mahabubabad district, had been working at the restaurant in the United States.
The tragedy has shattered her family back in Telangana. Supriya had married Kodumuri Ranjith, a software professional, approximately five years ago. The couple has a son, Adithya, who is two and a half years old. Her father, Daram Srinivas, described the family’s state as one of profound shock, stating there are "no words to speak." He has directly appealed to the Telangana State Government for assistance in bringing his daughter’s body back to India for cremation.
While the family awaits official updates from US authorities regarding the accident investigation and repatriation logistics, they have launched a GoFundMe campaign. The fund aims to cover the education, healthcare, and daily needs of Adithya, who will grow up without his mother. The page notes that while no amount can replace Supriya, the contributions will ensure her son feels supported in the years ahead.
