By the end of fiscal year 2027, Zelio E‑Mobility will have 550 dealerships in South India.
That jump comes from adding roughly 150 new outlets—40 in Tamil Nadu alone, 30 each in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and a doubling in Telangana from 15 to 30.
For buyers, it means a broader footprint for test drives and service, especially in tier‑2 cities where EVs are still sparse. Compared to rivals like the Hyundai Kona Electric, which has about 200 dealers nationwide, Zelio’s push could shave a few hundred kilometres off the average customer’s drive to a point of sale.
Policy wise, the expansion dovetails with the National EV Policy that nudges manufacturers to broaden regional touchpoints. This could also trigger a modest ₹1–2 lakh reduction in import duty on components, pushing retail prices down a touch.
Dealership rollout kicks off in Q3 2024 with Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad as launch pads, and the full network should be live by March 2027. Keep an eye on after‑sales coverage and any price adjustments that follow the dealer expansion.
