The 14th OSH India Expo kicked off Thursday at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, a key event for the automotive industry that is tightening its focus on worker protection.
Over 300 brands will showcase the latest in PPE technology, and a diverse mix of participants from the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and China will converge on the sidelines.
India’s personal protective equipment market is projected to hit $2.42 billion by 2026, a rise powered by the newly enacted Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code.
“Occupational safety is moving from being viewed largely as a compliance requirement to becoming an integral part of business continuity, workforce wellbeing and operational performance,” said Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets India.
For automotive manufacturers, the expo underscores the need to weave advanced safety gear and protocols into plant operations, ensuring that compliance translates into real protection for thousands of workers on the assembly line.
