Modi launched the slogan "We Will Do It" at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha on Wednesday, a gathering that marked the 25th anniversary of his tenure as India’s head of government. The Prime Minister called on all 140 crore citizens to unite in building a developed nation by 2047, framing the slogan as the rallying cry for the next quarter-century.
He underscored that India’s biggest hurdle is the societal split along voting lines, noting that a farmer’s water crisis or a town’s power outage does not discriminate by caste or creed. "If the problem belongs to everyone, the solution must be for everyone," Modi said, stressing that shared challenges demand collective action.
The speech also highlighted a recent heroics incident involving Captain Smit Machchhar, an Indian pilot who prevented a co‑pilot from crashing a flight bound for Israel after the latter was stabbed. Modi used the episode to illustrate India’s growing prowess in aviation and to hint at forthcoming initiatives that would bring more Indian-made aircraft into the global market.
With 25 years of political experience spanning three terms as Gujarat chief minister to three Lok Sabha victories, Modi framed his new slogan as a continuation of his vision for a self‑reliant, globally competitive India. He promised that visionary policies and relentless hard work would transform the nation, while acknowledging that the country still faces significant obstacles.
The slogan is expected to become the thematic backbone of upcoming government campaigns, influencing policy framing for the next electoral cycle and positioning the BJP’s developmental narrative for the 2024 general elections.
