
Ukraine fired 650 drones in a single night against the Moscow region on Tuesday, the largest such raid in two years. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 105 drones were shot down near the capital.
Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a 20‑year‑old man was killed in a village on the outskirts of the capital and that several homes were damaged. RIA Novosti reported six people wounded.
The attack comes after Ukraine's Defence Ministry announced on Monday that more than half of Russia's oil refining capacity has been rendered inoperative. The ministry listed refineries in Moscow, Yaroslavl, Kirishi, Ust‑Luga, Perm, Ilsky, Saratov and Syzran among the targets.
Defence Minister Evgeniy Khmara said the disruption was the result of a "carefully planned and systematic work" aimed at crippling Moscow's military‑economic potential.
Russia has vowed to intensify strikes on critical infrastructure, including Ukrainian targets, as winter approaches.
