A wave of hate‑filled stickers, each bearing a crude depiction of an Indian man defecating on a street and the slogan ‘Is this your culture? We don’t like it!’ appeared on lampposts and shopfronts across Cessnock.
The stickers also plastered a statistic that 32% of Australia’s population is foreign‑born, naming India as the top source, and demanded a ‘remigration now’—a chilling echo of the 2025 ‘Keep Curry’ leaflets that spread last July.
In a scathing Instagram post, Repacholi called the material ‘disgusting racist’ and warned that attempts to sow hatred would not be tolerated. He urged residents to report the stickers and not give the perpetrators publicity.
The Indian community in the Hunter Region has already felt the sting of anti‑immigrant rhetoric; local doctors said they were targeted with racist remarks in their offices.
Repacholi said the stickers would be removed once the community helps identify their locations, and he pledged to work with local councils to ensure the area stays free of hate.
