Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, a 31‑year‑old Delhi restaurant manager, vanished after a lunch at Golden Dragon on September 6, when he insisted on meeting his former colleague in Gurugram.
Police in Gurugram recovered his body on September 10 but failed to notify the family or upload identification data to the Zonal Integrated Police Network; the body was cremated on September 14, two days before the family was informed.
On September 12, Gurugram police arrested Vats and her partner after CCTV and phone analysis linked them to the crime; the pair confessed to killing Yuvraj over a financial dispute and disposing of his body in a nearby drain.
Both suspects remain in police custody for five days, and the investigation will be forwarded to the court for a charge sheet on September 20. Yuvraj’s family demands the post‑mortem report and DNA samples be preserved.
