The decision to pull out came after the PCB refused to issue the required No‑Objection Certificates, leaving Pakistan Champions without a slot in the ongoing World Championship of Legends Season 3.
They had been the runners‑up in both 2024 and 2025, losing to India Champions in 2024 and to South Africa Champions in 2025.
The root of the row goes back to the 2025 edition, when India Champions skipped their scheduled group‑stage and semifinal matches against Pakistan, prompting the PCB to impose restrictions on Pakistani players’ participation.
Kamil Khan, the team’s owner, said in a press release that the board’s demands for an apology and a handshake were unacceptable. The team thanked fans for their support.
With Pakistan Champions out, the WCL will proceed with six teams and the India–Pakistan clash scheduled for October 10 has been called off.
The next challenge for the tournament is the semifinal lineup, while Pakistan fans will be left waiting for a chance to see their legends on the field.
