Ayushmann Khurrana, the guy who turned a sperm donor into a household name, is once again defying expectations. Udta Teer throws him into the shoes of a Pakistani spy who’s lost his memory and insists he’s an Indian patriot. The result is a chaotic mix of mistaken identity, slap‑stick gags and a dash of patriotic fervor that feels like a Bollywood mash‑up sprinting off a different track.
The film also reunites him with Sara Ali Khan, the young star who once shared the screen in Pati Patni Aur Woh, and brings in a who’s‑who lineup—Ram Kapoor, Raghubir Yadav, Gulshan Grover, Rahul Bose, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Brijendra Kala, Suhail Nayyar and Mukul Dev. Director‑to‑be Akash A. Kaushik is stepping in for his debut, while Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment are backing the venture.
When the second trailer hit the net, Ayushmann couldn’t keep his grin in check. He told Pinkvilla that the film’s “real hero” is its premise, a rare cocktail of comedy, action and patriotism that “takes another turn” whenever you think you’ve seen it. Fans can expect a roller‑coaster of laughs and surprises that only a theater can deliver.
Udta Teer rolls out on October 23, with Ayushmann already eyeing another slot: a November 27 family drama, Yeh Prem Mol Liya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The two projects promise a wide spectrum—from chaotic spy‑comedy to heartfelt nostalgia—showcasing the actor’s chameleon range and hinting at a new era of genre experimentation in Bollywood.
