A 26‑year‑old Ladi Khan lost his life when an unidentified group fired indiscriminately at his Hyundai i20 in Mullanpur, Ludhiana, Friday night. The vehicle, carrying Khan and a passenger from Majri, was shot at after being followed by a Verna; the driver was killed on impact, while the passenger escaped unharmed.
The crash sent the car into a roadside pole, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. Police arrived within minutes, securing the site and collecting evidence.
Forensic and cyber teams are combing the scene, while investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and the backgrounds of both occupants for clues about motive. Possible angles include old enmity, a personal dispute, and gang rivalry.
