BJP mobilised union ministers to lead foot marches on Nov 1 to counter the INDIA alliance rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan.
Sources say the plan, orchestrated by party chief Nitin Navin, will see Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini marching in Lucknow, Shimla, Hyderabad, and Karnal respectively.
The marches, part of the “Save Democracy, End Anarchy” campaign, will deploy 10,000 participants at each district headquarters, carrying banners that explain the SIR process and counter claims of vote theft.
The BJP alleges the SIR exercise is transparent and follows constitutional safeguards, while opposition leaders accuse it of manipulating voter rolls for electoral advantage.
After the November 5 march in Karnal, party leaders will hold a press conference to present the outcomes and urge the Election Commission to strengthen safeguards.
