On September 21, Delhi Police seized three men on the outskirts of Astha Kunj Park near Kalkaji Mandir after a 17‑year‑old girl from Faridabad reported being gang‑raped by men who posed as officers.
The accused, identified as law student Hemant, his younger BSc‑studying brother, and a third suspect named Asif, were apprehended following a PCR call at 8:45 p.m. The police team, led by Joint CP Vijay Kumar, reached the park within fifteen minutes.
According to the victim’s statement, the girls had been at the temple for darshan before being lured into a secluded area of the park by men claiming to be police. They threatened the girl with a firearm and knife, separating her from her friend.
The victim, a Faridabad student, described feeling terrified after the attackers threatened her, a detail that underscores the brutality of the incident.
The case is now under the Special Crime Branch, where investigators will compile forensic evidence and interview witnesses. Authorities have promised a swift trial, with the first hearing slated for October 4.
