Pranav Adani unveiled Maharashtra’s new investment promotion body, ‘Invest Maharashtra’, on October 1 in Mumbai. The mechanism will funnel foreign and domestic capital into the state’s key sectors.
The state’s goal is a ₹8 lakh crore ($1 trillion) economy by 2030, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region at its core. Adani Group has pledged more than ₹6 lakh crore for projects in energy, aviation, urban regeneration, data centres and coal gasification.
So far, ₹2.6 lakh crore of those commitments are either completed or in progress, including the expansion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport, projected to serve over 90 million passengers annually.
Renewable energy is a priority; Adani’s Mumbai operations now supply over 60 % of power from renewables and are building a 1,000 MW HVDC link to bolster grid resilience.
In urban development, the Dharavi Redevelopment Project seeks modern housing and a micro‑enterprise hub. Investors will be invited to tours next month, as the state prepares to streamline approvals under the new body.
The launch of ‘Invest Maharashtra’ is expected to accelerate project handovers, with the first investor briefing slated for November 15.
